Dopo un lungo periodo di attesa, e soprattutto dopo che tutti i social network riescono a generare widget, applicazioni e tante nuove possibilità, ecco che arriva anche il turno di LinkedIn. Il business social network, era rimasto tra i pochi big a non realizzare ancora una versione dedicata agli sviluppatori, ma ad oggi ha risolto anche questo.

Il blog di LinkedIn, ha infatti diffuso la notizia che è stata lanciata una nuova sezione del portale dedicata agli sviluppatori e lo dichiara così: “Oltre 50 milioni di utenti affidano le proprie identità professionali e le proprie relazioni a LinkedIn, contribuendo a farlo diventare la più grande rete sociale professionale di oggi. Tuttavia, i professionisti in tutto il mondo usano una grande varietà di applicazioni e siti Web per svolgere il proprio lavoro e hanno detto chiaramente che vogliono poter contare sulle loro conoscenze professionali da dovunque. Perciò, a partire da oggi, gli sviluppatori di tutto il mondo possono integrare LinkedIn nelle loro applicazioni business e nei loro siti Web. Developer.linkedin.com è ora in linea e aperto per business“.

L’avvio di questo progetto, sembra sia stato avviato insieme a Microsoft quando si è deciso di sviluppare un’integrazione di LinkedIn per Outlook di Microsoft Office 2010. Ma oltre a Microsoft, già sono tante le realtà che hanno deciso di portarsi avanti in questa integrazione. Tweet Deck permetterà di visualizzare i profili LinkedIn dal suo interno, Amazon.com permetterà che da Kindle si possano scoprire i gusti sui testi degli utenti del social network professionale ed altre realtà, come il New York Times, ha deciso di migliorare il sistema già esistente di integrazione tra utenti registrati su LinkedIn ed il portale stesso.

Forse era giunto il momento di passare a questo sviluppo, dopo che la comunità aveva raggiunto i 50 milioni di utenti attivi. Come prevede Adam Nash, vice presidente divisione ricerca e piattaforme di LinkedIn: “Riteniamo che qualsiasi applicazione business, da chiunque costruita nel 2010, che non si integra con noi sia anacronistica“.
