Twitter e la mania di conoscenze

Dai rumors e dagli utenti più accreditati, risulta che Twitter a prima vista, è il peggior social network esistente, per grafica, per “povertà” di contenuti diffondibili, ridotti in soli 140 caratteri a messaggio, ma fatto sta che è di sicuro “l’oggetto del desiderio” più ambito negli ultimi tempi. Dopo la sua funzionalità testata in Iran, come fonte primaria di scambio notizie, oggi il social network conta oltre 17 milioni di iscritti.

La cosa che più colpisce è però, l’elevato numero di attori, cantanti e personaggi dello star system che utilizzano il popolare servizio di microblogging, spesso sotto falsi nomi per non essere invasi dalle richieste di amicizia da fans e sconosciuti.
Clive Thompson, parla in questo caso di “ambient awareness”, e cioè di consapevolezza dell’ambiente che ci circonda. L’utilizzo di messaggi così brevi, da l’occasione agli amici di riuscire a seguire le vite dei propri compagni con molta semplicità, e soprattutto di avere sotto controllo i tempi e gli orari. Si riescono a conoscere grazie a questo network le nuove manie dei nostri amici e soprattutto cosa stanno facendo in qualsiasi momento, grazie anche ad una interazione con il mobile ad oggi unica.

 

Se in America, sono i personaggi VIP a farla da padrone su Twitter, con un utilizzo al di sopra della media, gli studi, vogliono che in Cina, siano invece i politici ad utilizzare la piattaforma in maniera maniacale, al punto che la stessa è stata dovuta bloccare per evitare che si finisse in catastrofi discorsive. A seconda di queste informazioni, risulta quindi che Twitter è il vincitore (dati di giugno 2009) tra i social network per i personaggi pubblici.

Risulta quindi ovvio che tutti gli avvenimenti pubblici (vedi il caso Beppe Grillo e democrazia su Facebook), vengano così trasferiti di diritto sul nuovo mezzo per eccellenza della diffusione capillare dell’informazione, e cioè: il social network.
