Facebook: foto ed immagini non più disponibili, problemi hardware

E’ un brutto guaio quello successo Domenica su Facebook, a causa di un guasto hardware il 10-15% delle foto che gli utenti hanno caricato sul sito sono state temporaneamente non disponibili. Ora Facebook rassicura che tutte le immagini sono caricate correttamente e non c’è motivo di preoccuparsi

10-15% non vi sembra tanto? Vi rendete conto di che cifre parliamo? E’ bene ricordare che Facebook, solo lo scorso anno, ha immagazzinato più di 10 milioni di fotografie memorizzate dagli utenti registrati ed è il più popolare servizio di condivisione di foto sul web. Tenendo conto anche del fatto che ogni mese gli stessi utenti caricano circa 850 milioni di nuove immagini, ora il numero totale potrebbe aggirarsi attorno ai 14 bilioni. Ora potete capire, facendo il calcolo, che ben 1-2 bilioni di foto non sono potute essere visualizzate. Roba da matti!

E ‘uno dei primi e più lunghi “social-down” visti nella storia di Facebook. Mai finora era successa una cosa del genere. Chissà quanti terabyte di memoria ci vuole per sostenere una tale quantità di immagini. E poi con questi ritmi incessanti di upload da parte degli utenti… E’ proprio vero: Zuckerberg deve decidersi di monetizzare concretamente il social network per far fronte alle enormi spese d’acquisto dei server e loro manutenzione. La società non può continuare a svenarsi per andare avanti. Da una parte c’è una volontà di agire secondo questa politica d’altra parte c’è sempre la paura di riempire il sito di banner, pop up, ecc che potrebbero innervosire la clientela e farsene fuggire una grande fetta.

Dunque come agire? E’ questo il tema fondamentale di discussione su Facebook. Ciò nonostante anche questa volta si è riusciti a far fronte al problema con i propri soldi. Ma cosa è successo realmente? La società parla di problemi di hardware ma non sarà stato magari un sovraccaricamento dei servers? Non si sa, quel che è certo è che per alcune ore molti non hanno potuto visualizzare le proprie foto: che disdetta!

I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is a little plain. You could peek at Yahoo’s home page and see how they createwrite post headlines to get viewers to click. You might add a related video or a pic or two to get readers interested about what you’ve written. Just my opinion, it could bring your postsblog a little livelier.
