Fino ad oggi vi piaceva volare? Da domani vi piacerà ancora di più. Se siete dei veri maniaci di Facebook gradirete certamente la nuova trovata della Virgin, nota compagnia aerea, che ha deciso di sviluppare applicazioni compatibili con Facebook connect che permettano di usufruire dei servizi del social network anche in volo sui loro aerei. Ora si che Facebook è pronto a prendere il volo in tutti i sensi. Che ne dite?

E se fosse possibile inviare un drink dal sito web di Virgin ad un vostro amico o collega utilizzando Facebook Connect?

Così parla Alex Hunter, il capo del gruppo Virgin che si occupa dell’online marketing alla conferenza sulle applicazioni Web tenutasi pochi giorni fa a Miami. Insieme al lancio di queste nuove chicche sarà adibito un relativo sito web che sarà disponibile sin da subito. Si vede che sono davvero decisi nell’offrire un’esclusiva come questa.

Ma come si effettuerà la connessione ad internet? Questo è uno degli inconvenienti da superare e da risolvere. La via più comoda potrebbe risultare quella del wifi ma ancora non si sa bene con precisione. Bisogna tenere sempre bene a mente che comunque questo tipo di connessioni possono interferire nelle comunicazioni radio sull’aereomobile. Ma una volta risolto questo problema bisognerebbe chiedersi una cosa: quanto costerà usufruire di questa nuova app (non si sa ancora se sarà gratis) e quanto costerà accedere ad internet sull’aereomobile?

Per ora sono domande senza risposta. Ciò che invece è chiaro è ciò che si potrà fare utilizzando il Facebook connect sull’aereo:

  • Contattare in tempo reale amici o colleghi, anch’essi in viaggio come noi e seduti su un aereo come il nostro, mandar loro dei regali elettronici, cartoline, ecc;
  • Amici e parenti possono contattarsi per sapere se stanno viaggiando sullo stesso volo e richiedere in tal modo posti vicini;
  • Usufruire della miriade di nuove applicazioni per Facebook messe a disposizione dalla Virgin che certamente intratterranno la propria clientela durante i voli.
