Secondo uno studio condotto da Beevolve l’utente medio di Twitter è donna, ha 28 anni, ama il viola e twitta principalmente usando il suo iPhone. Sono questi i risultati di una ricerca effettuata analizzando le informazioni di 36 milioni di profili Twitter. Generalmente posta i suoi messaggi in inglese, parla principalmente di moda e famiglia, segue 102 persone ed ha 208 follower.

Entrando nello specifico invece scopriamo che il 53% degli utenti Twitter sono di sesso femminile mentre il 73,7% ha una età compresa tra i 15 ed i 25 anni. Gli utenti tra i 26 ed i 35 anni rappresentano il 14,9% del totale, mentre appena il 5,5% supera i 36 anni. L’utente medio invia 264 tweet all’anno (meno di uno al giorno) e segue spesso massimo 50 persone, quasi sempre amici e persone che conosce.

Gli Stati Uniti dominano la classifica dei “twittatori” con il 50,99% del totale, seguiti da Regno Unito (17,09%) e Australia (4,09%), in top ten troviamo anche paesi come Indonesia, Iran e Irlanda, ma non l’Italia. Gli argomenti più gettonati riguardano la famiglia, l’amore, la tecnologia, l’arte, la politica ed il cibo. Per finire scopriamo che la prola più usata nelle biografie degli utenti è “Love”, ovvero amore.
